LIGHT GUIDE AND BACKLIGHT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide that achieves uniform in-plane luminance and high directionality without requiring a detailed optimal design.

SOLUTION: The light guide 1 is an edge light-type light guide and includes a light guide plate 2 and a thin film 13 provided on the light-exit side of the light guide plate 2. The thin film 13 has a protruding portions that include a plurality of protrusions whose tops are in close-contact with the light-exit surface 6. The rear surface 7 of the light guide plate 2 has a pattern 12 having a sloping surface with a slope angle of smaller than 90° and 75° or above in the thickness direction of the light guide plate 2.
