<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite polarizing plate which has an optical compensation plate including aligned liquid crystalline materials, and prevents the optical compensation plate from being cracked even under the change in environmental temperature. <P>SOLUTION: A polarizing plate 11, a first adhesive layer 21, an optical compensation plate 12, and a second adhesive layer 22 are stacked in this order to obtain a composite polarizing plate 30. The optical compensation plate 12 has the liquid crystalline materials aligned therein, and has a tensile modulus of elasticity of ≤1,200N/mm<SP>2</SP>. Between the first adhesive layer 21 and the optical compensation plate 12, a retardation plate 13 and a third adhesive layer 23 may be disposed in this order from the side of the first adhesive layer 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
