<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection sensitivity and enhance detection reliability and temperature stability in a device for detecting the accumulation amount of particulate on a filter using electromagnetic wave. <P>SOLUTION: This detection device includes a filter for capturing particulate from the gas including particulate, a container 5 in which the filter is contained, an upstream side pipe 3 which is installed on the upstream side of the container 5 and flows the gas A into the container 5, a downstream side pipe 4 which is installed on the downstream side of the container 5 and flows the gas B passing through the filter, a transmission antenna 11 which is installed in the upstream side pipe 3 and transmits the electromagnetic wave of a frequency of 30 GHz-10 THz inclusive, an electromagnetic wave reflection part 10 provided in the downstream side pipe 4, and a receiving part 7 which is attached to the downstream side pipe 4 and incorporates a receiving antenna.
