PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system of an atomic oscillator capable of obtaining a constant light absorption amount even when the variation in optical power of a light source fluctuates in a predetermined range. SOLUTION: The optical system 100 includes: a light source 1 for emitting a resonant light 2; an optical switch 3 for selecting an emission optical channel for guiding the resonant light 2 emitted from the light source 1 from among a plurality of emission optical channels a-c; a plurality of gas cells 5, 6, 7 disposed on the plurality of emission optical channels a-c respectively, and having different sizes through which the resonant light 4 passes; an optical switch 9 having a plurality of incident optical channels A-C disposed on the emission sides of the gas cells 5, 6, 7 respectively and selecting an incident optical channel A for guiding an excitation light 8 having passed through the gas cells selected by the optical switch 3; a PD 11 for detecting the excitation light 10; and a control section 12 for controlling the optical switch 3 and the optical switch 9 on the basis of an absorption amount of the excitation light 10 detected by the PD 11.
