摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of reducing influence of sneaking of light to more accurately perform shading correction processing, in an image reader having two read means for respectively reading an image of one of both sides at an original. SOLUTION: The image reader 1 includes a back surface reading unit 20 and a front surface reading unit 10. A shading correction processing means at the image reader 1 creates data for shading correction for correcting luminance unevenness about the back surface read unit 20, based on each pixel value of a plurality of pixels obtained at the back surface-reading unit 20 by reception of reflection from a shading correction member 52. Moreover, the shading correction-processing means estimates the quantity of light reached from a second light source 11 to an image sensor 25 in the back surface reading unit 20, and performs shading correction also based on the quantity of light.
