PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage to a composing member even in the case of such an abnormal state that temperature adjustment control does not work. SOLUTION: In a printer for induction heating a fixing roller in a fixing unit, a member with a low Curie point is used for the axial end areas of the fixing roller and a member with a high Curie point is used for the middle area thereof. A temperature detecting element and an excessive temperature rise preventing member, which are used for temperature adjustment, are arranged in the area of the high Curie temperature member. Further, an interval between sheets of paper is changed according to whether a paper size is smaller than the area of the high Curie temperature member or larger than that.
