PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing laurolactam from cyclododecanone oxime by a Beckmann rearrangement reaction using a catalyst in a nonpolar solvent, where deposition of the catalyst, a catalyst decomposition product or the like is not caused. SOLUTION: A 2-alkoxy-4,6-dichloro-1,3,5-triazine is used as a catalyst in the production of laurolactam by a Beckmann rearrangement reaction of cyclododecanone oxime. Namely, the production method of laurolactam comprises subjecting cyclododecanone oxime to a Beckmann rearrangement using the 2-alkoxy-4,6-dichloro-1,3,5-triazine as a catalyst in the presence of a nonpolar solvent.
