In the production of an NASICON type of lithium iron phosphate particles, it has been demanded to improve the uniformity of the particle diameters and the chemical composition of the particles and also improve crystallinity of the particles. Thus, disclosed is a process for producing lithium iron phosphate particles, which comprises the following steps in this order: a step of producing a molten material containing 1 to 50 mol% of Li2O, 20 to 50 mol% of Fe2O3 and 30 to 60 mol% of P2O5 all in terms of oxide contents; a step of cooling the molten material to solidify the molten material; a step of grinding the solidified product into a desired particle shape; and a step of heating the ground product at 350 to 800°C under atmosphere or under oxidative conditions (0.21 nFe2(PO4)3 (0 < n = 3) to be precipitated. |
