The device has a rotatably mounted and adjustable brush head (10) which has multiple brush bundles. The brush bundles are arranged on a base plate and are guided by a front plate. A machining plane is provided within which the brush head is movable. The movement of the brush head in the machining plane does not takes place by a drive but two automatic adjusting units, particularly servo motors (30',30'') are provided. The adjusting units are perpendicular to each other and through which the brush head moves freely within the machining plane. An independent claim is also included for a machine unit.
