The seal (6) has an outwardly arranged sealing lip that is turned to a spring area (4), and an inwardly aligned stripping lip, where the seal is arranged in a piston rod guide and rests fittingly at an outer surface of a piston rod (5). The stripping lip is turned to an inner area of a vibration damper (2). The stripping lip and the sealing lip lie parallel to each other at a pointed angle on the outer surface of the piston rod. The sealing lip has two individual lips that are arranged and run parallel to each other. A seal arrangement seals an external pipe (7) of the vibration damper.
