<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system for always providing an optimum quality of a vein pattern, in imaging a vein pattern of a finger using transmitted light, without being affected by a difference, if any, in an external environment. <P>SOLUTION: A personal identification apparatus includes light sources emitting light to be transmitted through the finger, an imaging unit for imaging the light transmitted through the finger, a finger detection means for detecting that the finger exists in a predetermined position, a finger region extraction means for extracting a region occupied by the finger from an image picked up by the imaging unit, and a gain changing means for changing an amplification factor of imaging elements in the imaging unit on the basis of an image quality of a specific section within an extracted region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
