PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare earth permanent magnet in which magnet components are micronized without reducing magnet components by the incorporation of carbides, and whose coercive force can be improved without reducing its saturation magnetization, and to provide a method for producing the same.
SOLUTION: In the rare earth permanent magnet, HfC particles having an average particle diameter of 5 to 100 nm are dispersed in an amount of 0.2 to 3.0 atom% into an R-Fe-B-based alloy (R: rare earth elements). The production method includes: a step where the molten metal of an R-Fe-B-based alloy comprising HfC particles with the average particle diameter of 5 to 100 nm is rapidly cooled so as to obtain a magnet material which is amorphous or has the average crystal grain diameters of ≤5 μm; and a step where the magnet material is subjected to hot plastic working so as to impart magnetic anisotropy thereto.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
