PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil pump that spreads oil into a rotor chamber in a short time immediately after the start-up of an engine, and makes the rotation of the rotor smooth from the beginning of the start-up. SOLUTION: A drive shaft 8 protrudes to the outside of a pump housing (A), and a rotating plate 9 in a substantially flat plate shape is attached to a protruding area, and on an outer side surface 22 of the pump housing orthogonal to its axial direction, there is formed a guide wall shaped portion 5 situated at an outer peripheral side from a position of a discharge port 43 relative to the drive shaft 8 as a center and protruding in an axial direction of the drive shaft. The guide wall shaped portion 5 is composed of an arc shaped guide 51 formed ranging from a front side of position of the discharge outlet in a rotating direction relative to the drive shaft as the center to a position of the discharge port, and a receiving surface guide portion 52 formed in a substantially folding shape along a circumference of the discharge port toward the drive shaft. A rotating tip edge 9a of the rotating plate 9 is configured not to mutually interfere with the guide wall shaped portion 5, and a side end situated between both rotating ends 9a of the rotating plate 9 and nearer to the outer side surface 22 comes closer to and passes through the opening 43o of the discharge port 43.
