PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a new ticket machine for optically and accurately detecting the replacement period of roll paper, even when the roll paper and a rotary disk are installed on a ticket machine body side, and replacement of the roll paper by attachment and detachment of only the roll paper is made possible. SOLUTION: This ticket machine is provided with a plurality of light projecting/receiving parts 111a and 111b installed on the side face 11 of a ticket machine body 11, and arranged such that when inspection rays of lightαare simultaneously projected, at least any one inspection ray of lightαis made to pass through the through-hole 122a of a rotary disk 122, and that reflected rays of lightβwhen the inspection ray of lightαis reflected on the roll paper 121 are received through the through-hole 122a; and a near end determination means for optically detecting the near end of the roll paper 121 on the basis of the light receiving state of the reflected rays of lightβ.
