PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading method and an image reading system for easily selecting a desired image from among a plurality of image data stored in media and an order device equipped with them.

SOLUTION: The image reading system for reading image data from media A includes: an attribute reading part 222 for reading only the attributes of image data; an attribute grouping part 223 for grouping the attributes based on the information of the read attributes; a monitor 12 for displaying the groups of the attributes; a touch panel 13 for enabling a user to select any of the displayed groups of the attributes; and an image reading part 224 for reading only the image data having the attributes of the selected group from the media A.
