PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video reproducing device capable of allowing caption to be in a highly visible display mode when a user executes an operation conforming to a predetermined pattern. SOLUTION: The video reproducing device 1 for reproducing video images with caption includes: a video processing section 12 for reproducing video images with caption on the basis of video data as source of video images to be reproduced and text data of the caption; an operation accepting section 7 for accepting user's operation relating to the progress of the reproduction position of video images; a determination section 14 for determining, when the operation accepting section 7 accepts a user's operation, whether or not the user's operation conforms to a predetermined operation pattern to be executed by a user when the user wants to reconfirm the caption; and a caption-adjustment processing section 15 for allowing the caption attached by the video processing section 12 to be in a highly visible display mode when the determination processing section 14 determines that the user's operation conforms to the predetermined operation pattern.
