PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable hermetic compressor capable of reducing an oil delivery quantity to a compressor external part, and capable of securing an oil quantity inside a sealed vessel, with a relatively easy constitution, for solving such the conventional problem, though cost is increased, since there is the necessity of separately arranging a separation board or a rib for the oil separation action, in a conventional technology. SOLUTION: A shape of a valve cover is formed in a tapered shape making the upper side smaller than the lower side, and the direction of a refrigerant gas discharge hole is set in the direction for colliding a refrigerant with the coil end of an electric motor stator, so that refrigerant gas discharged from a compression mechanism can be struck to the compression mechanism side coil end, and lubricating oil splashing on an inside space is urged to drip on the compression mechanism side coil end through surface tension, and the oil separation effect is enhanced, and the oil delivery quantity can be reduced.
