PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blow molding machine capable of stopping the machine without damaging a mold or a blow nozzle when the machine is suddenly stopped due to a failure or the like. SOLUTION: The blow molding machine includes a mold 12, and a blow nozzle 14 disposed to move freely vertically at the upper part of the mold 12, brings the blow nozzle 14 into contact with the mold 12 in a descending section S1 while rotating a wheel 11 to move the mold 12 and the blow nozzle 14, blows gas from the blow nozzle 14 into a preform in the mold 12 to blow-mold a bottle B, and raises the blow nozzle 14 to a separation position in an ascending section S2. The blow molding machine includes a safety cam 21 disposed at the start point P2 of the ascending section S2 and having a slope 21a for raising the blow nozzle 14 from a contact position to a predetermined retreating position between the contact position and the separation position, and a safety rail 22 disposed in the ascending section S2 to hold the blow nozzle 14 in the retreating position.
