PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a rolling resistance of a tire with high accuracy. SOLUTION: An apparatus 1 for measuring the rolling resistance of the tire is provided, which includes; a traveling drum 3 which drives its rotation about a horizontal axis center; and a rolling resistance measuring means 5 for measuring the rolling resistance of the tire T, by measuring a rotational torque of the traveling drum 3 in such the state that the tire T is pressed on a traveling simulated road surface 4 formed on the traveling drum 3. The apparatus 1 for measuring the rolling resistance is characterized in that a load reducing means 9 is disposed, which ejects high pressure air to the traveling simulated road surface 4 and reduces a load acting on the traveling drum 3.
