PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system capable of reducing a sense of incongruity of a user on a combustion sound when switching an air-fuel ratio. SOLUTION: The engine control system has a combustion switching indicating means for indicating the switching of a cylinder inflow gas quantity and a fuel injection quantity of flowing in an engine cylinder for changing the air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas, a cylinder oxygen concentration estimating means for estimating a cylinder oxygen concentration, a storage means for storing a first preset value being a first concentration in the cylinder oxygen concentration and a second preset value being a second concentration higher than the first concentration on one or more of parameters selected from target ignition timing, target injection pressure and a target pilot injection quantity, and a parameter setting means for setting the parameter corresponding to the cylinder oxygen concentration estimated by the cylinder oxygen concentration estimating means by an interpolation calculation from the first preset value and the second preset value based on a relationship between and among the first concentration, the second concentration and the cylinder oxygen concentration estimated by the cylinder oxygen concentration estimating means.
