PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in spatial resolution of an X-ray image, due to the an X-ray condition superimposing act when adopting an X-ray focal position shift system together with time division reading system of projection data. SOLUTION: An X-ray CT apparatus successively reads X-ray detection signals, which are stored in an X-ray detection element array and used for generating an X-ray image, for each string of the X-ray detection element array by time division, and also performs scanning by changing-over for each view various X-ray conditions for determining the characteristic of the X-ray with which a subject is irradiated. The apparatus performs timing control to cause timings (T21-T23) for starting reading the X-ray detection signals to be synchronized with timings (T11-T13) for changing-over the X-ray focal positions by setting the designated specific string of the X-ray detection element array as an object.
