摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metal powder the atomic array of which becomes a face-centered cubic lattice at sintering temperature, the sinterability of which is improved even when the metal powder has the composition originally poor in sinterability and from which a sintered compact having excellent mechanical properties can be produced and to provide the sintered compact which is produced by using the metal powder and has excellent mechanical properties. SOLUTION: The metal powder is used for producing the sintered compact through: [A] a composition preparing step; [B] a compacting step; [C] a degreasing step; and [D] a sintering step. The metal powder has as a main component the composition suitable for precipitating a face-centered cubic lattice phase when sintered and contains 0.001-0.3 mass% Mn (manganese).
