PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring protein in a sample with high sensitivity not requiring an expensive device or instrument during measurement, simple in measuring operation, extremely shortening the time required in measurement and capable of measuring even a minute amount of the protein contained in the sample, and a kit for measuring the protein in the sample. SOLUTION: The protein in the sample is measured by a measuring method containing the following respective steps, that is, a coagulated matter forming step (1) of bringing the sample and coloring matter, which associates with the protein to form coagulated matter, into contact with each other to associate the protein contained in the sample with the coloring matter to thereby form the coagulated matter, a passing step (2) of passing a definite amount of a coagulated matter-containing solution through a porous carrier comprising glass fibers after the coagulated matter is formed and a color measuring step (3) of measuring the surface color of the porous carrier. Further, the kit for measuring the protein in the sample contains a reagent containing the coloring matter associating with the protein to form the coagulated matter and the porous carrier comprising the glass fibers.
