The control device is provided with a storage device in which a turbine map of a turbine of the turbocharger is stored. The turbine map is given for a function of the turbine pressure ratio or the equation for the flow characteristic, where the turbine map is formed one-dimensional. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a turbocharger or the turbocharger connected to internal combustion engine.
