<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit for an air conditioner which can have a state wherein an indoor fan hardly heat-deformed during storage in a warehouse and transportation in the marketplace. <P>SOLUTION: In the indoor unit for the air conditioner including a heat exchanger, an air blowing fan 4, a fan motor 3, and a blowout grill, a spacer 30 is provided between a side plate (side plate on the axial side of the air blowing fan 4) 401, constituting the air blowing fan 4 positioned at least on the lower side when the indoor unit is vertically installed during transportation and storage etc., and a side plate 21 of an indoor unit casing.
