PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous sizing composition for glass and carbon fibers which allows for the use of a greater range of polymers, lubricants and new chemistries, and allows for a greater range of applications for the use of reinforced plastics. SOLUTION: The nonaqueous sizing composition for application to glass or carbon fibers comprises (a) one or more resins selected from the group consisting of an epoxy resin, a polyester resin, and a vinyl ester resin, (b) one or more polymers compatible with the epoxy resin, the polyester resin, and the vinyl ester resin, (c) one or more coupling agents, and (d) one or more lubricants, wherein the nonaqueous sizing composition has a viscosity ranging from 10 to 1,500 cps at a temperature of -23.33 to 204.4°C (-10 to 400°F).
