PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can secure the flatness of a recording medium by a simple configuration. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 includes a recording head 16 which renders an image by ejecting liquid droplets to recording paper SH; a flat image rendering section 18 which is disposed facing the recording head 16 to receive the liquid droplets with a top surface shaped flat; a sub-scanning roller 14 which feeds the recording paper SH to the flat image rendering section 18; a first conveying roller 20 which is disposed at the downstream side of the flat image rendering section 18, conveys the recording paper SH toward the conveying direction downstream side at higher speed than that of the sub-scanning roller 14 to the downstream side of the conveying direction while gripping the recording paper SH, and can slidably rotate by a predetermined load toward the upstream side of the conveying direction; and a reverse-feed prevented conveying roller 27 which is disposed at the downstream side of the first conveying roller 20 so as to be cable of following rotation toward the downstream side of the conveying direction, grips and feeds the recording paper SH toward the downstream side of the conveying direction, and is prevented from being rotated toward the upstream side of the conveying direction.
