PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for treating fluorine-containing waste water, capable of obtaining calcium fluoride of high purity. SOLUTION: The fluorine-containing waste water whose fluorine concentration is lower than 1,000 mg/L is concentrated to the fluorine concentration equal to or higher than 1,000 mg/L by reverse osmosis equipment 12, the pH value of the concentrated fluorine-containing waste water is adjusted to be 3 or lower in a pH adjustment tank, and the pH-adjusted fluorine-containing waste water is led to a calcium carbonate packed tower 16. By converting fluorine into calcium fluoride, the fluorine is removed from the fluorine-containing waste water, and it is discharged as treated water. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
