PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet irradiation device to a user which can determine the exchange time of an ultraviolet lamp to exhibit high treatment performance. SOLUTION: The ultraviolet irradiation device 1 includes an ultraviolet lamp 4, a treatment cylinder 10 into which the ultraviolet lamp 4 is inserted and through which a liquid to be treated passes, and a first illuminance sensor 2a and a second illuminance sensor 2b which are provided on the side wall of the treatment cylinder 10 for detecting the illuminance of the ultraviolet lamp 4. The first illuminance sensor 2a and the second illuminance sensor 2b are arranged so that their distances from the ultraviolet lamp 4 are different and that their positions in the longitudinal direction of the ultraviolet lamp 4 have an equal distance from both ends of the ultraviolet lamp 4, whereby the ultraviolet irradiation device 1 can accurately calculate the transmittance of the liquid to be treated to exactly grasp the luminance of the ultraviolet lamp 4.
