PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus capable of manufacturing a coated product of good quality because such problems as contaminations of the coating apparatus caused by a coating amount excessive section at the time of coating start and web cuts never take place and preventing a heel that is a liquid bank upstream generated on a dynamic contact line where a curtain line film collides with a web from being generated. SOLUTION: In the curtain coating apparatus that coats a coating liquid supplied to a curtain head in a continuously travelling web by a pump from a liquid supply tank, a receiving pan that is slidable in the travelling direction of the web is provided, and the tip of a coating plate connected to the receiving pan is allowed to slide with the tip thereof contacted with the web and to vary a collision angle of the curtain film and web; thereby the coating start with the receiving pan and changes in collision angle of the web are timely interlocked.
