A method and system for transmitting large message mode Converged Internet Protocol (IP) Messaging (CPM) messages are provided by the present invention. The method includes: when a CPM client at the sending side transmits a large message mode CPM message to a CPM client at the receiving side, the CPM client at the sending side transmits a session invitation message to the CPM client at the receiving side, negotiates with the CPM client at the receiving side, determines and establishes a media transmission link between the CPM client at the sending side and the CPM client at the receiving side; the CPM client at the sending side transmits the content of the large message mode CPM message to the CPM client at the receiving side based on the determined and established media transmission link; the CPM client at the sending side or the CPM client at the receiving side initiates a session ending process for the large message mode CPM message. The present invention enables the transmission of the large message mode CPM message. |
