The invention relates to an eddy current sensor comprising a sensor body and a coil wound around the sensor body. Each coil end of the sensor is provided with a component with high electroconductivity. The invention also relates to methods for determining material characteristics modified by thermal influences, created during the production of boreholes in a component to be examined, by means of the eddy current sensor.
