Provided is a covering member for an instrument, which supplements the covering efficiency of a functional liquid crystal film and which can realize a covering property necessary to provide an aesthetic appearance to a variety of products without causing a radio disturbance, etc. A covering member for an instrument comprises a transparent film substrate (3), an information input device (4) in the form of a film, which is arranged on the lower side of the transparent film substrate, a functional liquid crystal film (5) which is arranged on the lower side of the information input device in a position to cover the portion (1b) of the instrument to be covered and which is electrically capable of switching between a transmission state and a non-transmission state, and a non-metallic luster film layer (6) which is arranged on the lower side of the functional liquid crystal film and which has a luster due to reflection and a transmittability.
