摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight display that is excellent in productivity and has flexibility. <P>SOLUTION: An electrophoretic display is provided with: a pixel part; and a pair of plastic substrates that holds the pixel part therebetween. The pixel part has: a first insulating layer for partitioning pixels adjacent to each other; a layer including a microcapsule partitioned for each pixel by the first insulating layer; a pair of electrodes that holds the layer including the microcapsule therebetween; and a thin-film transistor electrically connected to one of the pair of the electrodes. The thin-film transistor includes: a second insulating layer having an opening part; a semiconductor layer provided inside the opening part, and insulated and separated from the thin-film transistor adjacent thereto by the opening part; and a gate electrode that overlaps the semiconductor layer through the gate insulating layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p>
