PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that: methods for measuring concentrations≤0.001 mg/m<SP>3</SP>are not set in the JIS; methods for measuring concentrations≥20 mg/m<SP>3</SP>are not set therein either; it has been necessary to properly use two methods, methods A and B, according to the level of contamination owing to oil; measurement requires careful consideration in many ways from the viewpoint of enhancing accuracy by preventing the mixing in of foreign matter; and no idea has been acquired of trying to simultaneously measure the concentration of oil before and after going to check the effectiveness of an oil removal means such as a filter. SOLUTION: Compressed air is divided on both the entry side and exit side of oil removal means 140 and 140A. Then, its flow is added up in respective places. Further, oil mist is dissolved in n-hexane liquid 44 by passing the compressed air through the n-hexane liquid 44 to measure an increasing amount owing to the dissolution of oil mist, thereby simultaneously measuring the concentration of oil.
