PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily producing a polymer wherein an olefin polymer segment is chemically bound to a radical polymer segment. SOLUTION: A radically polymerizable monomer is polymerized in the presence of a halogen-free olefin polymer (A), a metal compound (B)containing a transition metal element selected from those in groups III to XI of the periodic table, and an activator (C) having a halogen-halogen or nitrogen-halogen bond in its molecule, to produce a polymer wherein an olefin polymer segment is chemically bound to a radical polymer segment.
