METHOD FOR MEASURING OPTICAL POWER, OPTICAL LINE TERMINAL AND OPTICAL NETWORK UNIT

A method for measuring optical power, an Optical Line Terminal (OLT) and an Optical Network Unit (ONU), which are related to communications field, are specially provided in the embodiments of the present invention. Said method includes: generating a Physical Layer Operation Administration and Maintenance (PLOAM) message, said PLOAM message includes an identifier of the ONU to be measured and information of the time duration that is allocated for the ONU to be measured and used to send an uplink optical signal; sending said PLOAM message to said ONUs; receiving the uplink optical signal sent by said ONU to be measured within said allocated time duration; detecting said received uplink optical signal, and determining the optical power of said uplink optical signal. The present invention eliminates bandwidth wastes caused by allocating a bandwidth to the ONU to be measured to perform optical power detection by a Dynamic Bandwidth Assignment (DBA) module in the optical power detection process in the prior art.
