FLUORINE GAS GENERATION DEVICE

Disclosed is a fluorine gas generation device that generates fluorine gas by electrolyzing hydrogen fluoride that is in a molten salt. Said fluorine gas generation device is provided with an electrolysis vessel in which a first air chamber and a second air chamber are partitioned off separately above the surface of the molten salt. A primary product gas, the main component of which is fluorine gas generated at an anode immersed in the molten salt, is directed into the first air chamber, and a by-product gas, the main component of which is hydrogen gas generated at a cathode immersed in the molten salt, is directed into the second air chamber. The fluorine gas generation device is further provided with: a feedstock supply channel, connected to the electrolysis vessel, that directs hydrogen fluoride into the molten salt; and a carrier gas supply channel, connected to the feedstock supply channel, that directs to the feedstock supply channel a carrier gas for directing the hydrogen fluoride into the molten salt. Either the fluorine gas generated at the anode of the electrolysis vessel or the hydrogen gas generated at the cathode is used as the carrier gas.
