PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network management system capable of immediately discriminating an alarm, based on failure from an alarm based on a planned work. SOLUTION: The management system includes: a work management device for storing work information for identifying the period of planned work, and the device or the line as a target of work of the planned work in the network; a configuration management device for managing the network configuration; and a monitoring device. The configuration management device acquires work information from the work management device and associates a target line as a work target and a higher-order line of the target line with the work information, and notifies the monitoring device regarding the work information, together with the alarm line information in response to an inquiry about the alarm line from the monitoring device, if the there is work information associated with the alarm line; upon receiving the work information together with the alarm line information, the monitoring device determines whether the time when the alarm occurs lies within a period included in the work information; and if so, adds the information that the alarm is caused by the planned work to the alarm.
