PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system for efficiently linking a variety of technological information dispersed on the Internet and easily obtaining connection among a variety of information across fields and categories of business. SOLUTION: The information providing system has a plurality of dictionary databases 21, 22, 5 and a CPU 11 as an operation unit for controlling the dictionary databases. The dictionary databases have particular conceptual groups A, B, C, respectively, stores a plurality of concepts belonging to the conceptual groups, stores names about individual concepts, notational variation, and attributes for identifying the concepts in association with individual concepts. The CPU 11 discriminates another name for the same concept from another concept of the same orthography on the basis of the dictionary databases 21, 22, 5 and outputs this another name related to this search word, notational variation, and attributes for identifying the concept when a search word is input.
