PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein when terminal attachment ends of a gas meter are increased and the terminals are connected by a bus distribution, the gas meter and the terminals connected to the bus do not operate normally if the address of each terminal becomes abnormal. SOLUTION: A gas meter system includes: a flow rate measuring means 9 for measuring a gas flow rate; a data transmitting and receiving means 4 connected to external alarms 7 by the bus distribution for communicating by packet communication; a shutoff means 3 for shutting off the gas flow when the data transmitting and receiving means 4 receives that the alarm 7 has set an alarm off by detecting an abnormality; and a control means 6 for detecting the address specifying the alarm 7 from the electric message transmitted from the alarm A7 and the alarm B8, wherein the control means 6 shuts off the gas flow with the shutoff means 3 if there is the same address specifying the alarm A7 and the alarm B8.
