PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ionizing/atomizing device for minimizing introduction of neutral molecules, and generating ions efficiently for introducing to a mass spectrometer, by atomizing and fining samples including ionization reagents contained in an organic solvent under atmospheric pressure. SOLUTION: A nebulizer has distinctive features in the nebulizer head and the capillary for sample solutions. The nebulizer head is manufactured of stainless steel for generating a high-pressure field; the tip of the capillary is subjected to taper machining in terms of its inner surface is subjected to flare machining, toward the outside; and the capillary outlet is allowed to retreat from the nebulizer head.
