PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer support device which brings a body holding implement into satisfactory contact with a care recipient. SOLUTION: The transfer support device 10 includes: a movable truck 1; an arm 2 the one end of which is attached freely tiltably to the truck 1; the body holding implement 3 which is provided at the other end of the arm 2 and holds the care recipient; a plurality of driving parts 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, and 16 which drive the truck 1 and the arm 2; a control part 17 which controls the driving parts; and a detection part 19 which detects the contact of the body holding implement 3 with the trunk of the care recipient.
