Provided is a precursor for a direct printing-type waterless lithographic printing plate which shows high sensitivity not only immediately after the production of the precursor but also after the passage of time. A precursor for a direct printing-type waterless lithographic printing plate, which at least comprises a heat-sensitive layer and a silicone rubber layer that are laminated on a substrate in this order, wherein said heat-sensitive layer comprises a liquid foam which contains a liquid having a boiling point within a range of 210-270oC. A method for producing a precursor for a direct printing-type waterless lithographic printing plate, at least comprising: a step for applying a heat-sensitive layer composition solution, which contains a solvent having a solubility parameter of 17.0 (MPa)1/2 or less and a boiling point within a range of 210-270oC and a solvent having a solubility parameter exceeding 17.0 (MPa)1/2, onto a substrate optionally provided with a resin layer laminated thereon; a step for drying said heat-sensitive layer composition solution to form a heat-sensitive layer; and a step for applying a silicone rubber layer composition onto said heat-sensitive layer to form a silicone rubber layer.
