PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator of a rotating electrical machine wherein an insulation cleat is suppressed for stress, deformation, and increase in size. SOLUTION: A stator of a rotating electrical machine is equipped with a stator core 4, stator windings 6 that are provided in the stator core 4 and are arranged along the peripheral direction of the stator core 4, insulation cleats 7 that are provided in the stator core 4, and are arranged along the peripheral direction of the stator core 4, and connecting conductors 8 that are provided concentrically with the stator core 4 and are connected to the stator windings 6. Each of the insulation cleats 7 has an insulation cleat fixed portion 10 fixed to the stator core 4 and an insulation cleat movable portion 11 that is so provided in the insulation cleat fixed portion 10 as to be slidable in the radial direction of the stator core 4 and holds the connecting conductor 8.
