Provided is a method of producing a compressed wood product wherein moisture is prevented from infiltrating into the end face of a wood which is cut after compression without increasing the man-hours. The method comprises a compression step for applying a compressive force to a blank material (2) of a predetermined shape blocked from a raw wood while clamping the blank material by a pair of dies (11, 12), and a division step for dividing the blank material (3) compressed in the compression step into a plurality of portions by cutting, wherein the compressibility in the compression step of a region corresponding to the boundary of the plurality of portions (4, 5) of the blank material (3) divided in the division step is higher than the compressibility in the compression step of other regions of the blank material, and the width of the boundary is larger than the cutting width when the blank material is cut in the division step.
