PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device allowing a user to adjust hues and luminance by freely and finely adjusting a color mixing ratio, and to provide a projector including the light source device. SOLUTION: This projector 10 includes the light source device 63, a display element 51, an optical system, and a projector control means to control the light source device 63. The light source device 63 includes a light emitting plate 130 having at least two light emitting regions each emitting light having different wavelength regions, a light source 72 irradiating light to the light emitting regions, and a chromaticity changing means to change the position of an irradiation spot and/or the shape of the irradiation spot so that the irradiation spot of light from the light source 72 in the light emitting region is kept in each independent light emitting region or is spread over at least two light emitting regions. A phosphor layer which emits light having a prescribed wavelength region by receiving light from the light source 72 is disposed in at least one of the light emitting regions.
