The invention relates to an inventory control system for portable containers, using RFID technology for automatically monitoring operations involving the removal and return of objects such as - but not limited to - tools, weapons, jewellery, and surgical instruments, from and to at least one compartment in a portable container, in order to maintain a status and operational record of each object. Furthermore, the system can record which object has been taken from or returned to which compartment, by which employee and when, and can compile the information from each storage area in a database and system for triggering, reporting and sending alarms with the aim of having total control of the objects with respect to the inventory thereof, the servicing of the objects (maintenance, calibration, repair and/or replacement), and the management of the use of the objects controlled by the system. |
