The system (1) has wind turbines (2) including a generator (10) i.e. self-excited synchronous generator (10.2), with an adjustable excitation, and a wind park controlling device (17) controlling function- and reactive power for the generator. An electrically integrated network connects the wind turbines with each other, and supplies electrical power into an electrical power supply. The excitation is indirectly adjusted depending upon reactive power requirement of the wind park controlling device. The wind turbines include a controlling unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a wind park.
