<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery for improving rate characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium ion secondary battery includes an electrode 10 having a current collector 16 and an active material layer 18 formed on the current collector 16, and an electrolyte solution containing an organic solvent having carbonate group and lithium ion.
